still very new to diveing
when I did my research the apex was the way to go as I live in a place were cold water diveing is the normal ,so I bought the apex atx 200 . h2andy you feel spending high bucks is wrong that is cool ,but just think about what you are spending for lessions , dive trips , time away from family ,meals ,gas , if you do the math years of trouble free diveing what did you realy save 100-300 dollars . man in book not worth it buy the best !!
 
good point. and you're absolutely right.

but for me, it came to i can either dive now with less than top of the line equipment
or sit around and wait a year or two, and i just had to move forward. not ideal -(

keep in mind that gearing up from cavern diver to cave
diver took over $1500, and i STILL need to get a BP/Wings.
so saving $300 on the reg, $250 on the light, $200 on the
accessories all add up: now i have $750.00 that i can
pay for the class and travel with...

and so on... still, you do have a good point
