Stopping clip from sliding up and down reg hose

it is for the above and yes on my octopus. i may give the zip tie a go as it sounds like an easy solution.

Don't pull it too terribly tight, and use the tag ends to secure your snap.

It may not work for you OP, but I've set up other rigs with a piece of a snorkel holder wrapped around the line to stop clamps from sliding like on these:
