Weight drop from Rig2 to BP/W

Just to give you a taste: My Jacket-style BC was neutral or MAYBE one pound positive in the water. So with everything else being equal, theory would have predicted that by switching to a BW/W, I should need pretty much the same kind of weight. But I didn't. I needed much less. Why? I have no idea.
@AbyssalPlains: If your jacket-style BC was about neutral, your BP/W was a stainless steel BP with stainless steel tank camband buckles with no STA, and you didn't change any other gear, I wouldn't be surprised if you were able to shed 5-6 lbs. or slightly more from your ballast when transitioning to the BP/W.

I completely agree with you that there is no substitute for an in-water weight check.
