NOTICE TO DIVERS[/h]
Welland Scuba Park - 2013 Update

Divers and dive clubs should be aware that the ramp at the Welland Scuba Park is used occasionally as the emergency launch ramp for the rescue zodiac of the Welland Fire Department. Some form of diver recall should be considered as part of your dive plan.

The Welland Recreational Canal Corporation has posted a Warning Sign. Click on the sign to see a large version.

In May they will post another sign that will showcase the Scuba Park, include a map and give the general use guidelines and regulations.

These include a statement that ALL scuba divers must display a dive flag so that permitted users are aware of the scuba divers location. It will NOT be accepted to only have the flag displayed on shore as some have tried to do. Because of the increased interest and use of the scuba park, it will be mandated that ALL divers MUST display flags in water or they will not be permitted to continue using the scuba park for liability and safety reasons.

Interesting, thanks for posting this. I guess I'll have to bring my float n flag along.
