It's strictly about finding out:

2) If you read, but don't participate, why not?

I most cases, I read to learn and post to think or validate a thought. Obviously, I haven't had many thoughts lately.

I don't dive into many new threads because they are mostly a rehash of a topic that I have been involved with in the past. In the unlikely event that I can actually add something to the thread, I may participate, but most threads are pretty predictable in their course and in what info they will yield.

And while I recognize the importance of a dancing banana, I believe the conversation is not complete until once considers the dancing chicken.

:chicken:

D'oh! And I almost used that in place of the banana, but equated that to a similar breach of etiquette as jumping straight to a triple dawg dare! :rofl3:

I think it is a great thing we're really getting to the heart of the issues here. We're making real progress, on a lama

:bananalama:

Those threads always give me the same feeling:

"here we go again"

I try to participate if I think something can be gained from it but most of the time it just costs huge amounts of energy. I'm usually left with the feeling that I tried to wash a pig with a toothbrush and lost.

I wish I could be more like Boulderjohn and just ignore it all. I envy his resolve and I have nothing but respect for the things he does say if he gets enraged enough to join the fray. :D

I think the people who read those threads trying to learn something would learn more about scuba diving by watching Jerry Springer re-runs on youtube.
