What is the Wrinkles Dive?

This is a monthly gathering of all divers and non-divers in SoCal who can make it. It's a lot of fun involving diving, eating, socializing and sometimes even camping!

It all started when our SoCal member, Wrinkles, mentioned to a group that she dove with that it would be really fun to be able to get together at least once a month. Pasley, took off with the idea and announced the first "Wrinkles Dive". The rest is history!

It's open to everyone of all skill levels from "I'm not certified yet" to "Do we really have to dive the Andrea Doria again?"

We've found this to be a great way to meet our fellow divers locally and many new dive buddies have been found though these "dive soirees".

Loose Schedule of events:

7:00AM - Early Birds arrive and lay claim to a spot (put out tarps and shade thingies)
8:00AM - First Dive
11:00AM - Second Dive
12:00AM - Lunch
2:00PM - Third Dive
5:00PM - Fourth Dive
6:30PM - Night Dive (Sunset, bring your lights, extra batteries and warm clothes)

Wrinkles dives will take place every 2nd Saturday of the month and we will occasionally have both a Saturday and Sunday included for an entire weekend of fun.

February 10th, Saturday - Orange County - Heisler Park
March 10th, Saturday - Catalina Island - Avalon Dive Park
April 14th, Saturday - Los Angeles - Palos Verdes/Redondo area - Veteran's Park
May 12th, Saturday - San Diego County - La Jolla Shores
June 9th, Saturday - Orange County - Heisler Park
July 14th, Saturday - Catalina Island - Avalon Dive Park
August 11th and 12th, Saturday and Sunday - Los Angeles/Ventura County - Leo Carrillo

FYI ... Heisler Park is currently closed to the public due to major construction. According to some of the workers that I spoke to this AM, the project is expected to last several months.

No worries... I'm headed down to Laguna tomorrow to hunt out an appropriate spot. The wrinkles dive will still happen it may just have to be a little further south or north than usual.

I'm pretty new here and I was wondering if you all knew about the constuction in Laguna Beach.
Heisler Park is completly torn out to work on the drainage systems.
So if you come up with new location please let me know.

I looked at the "The Dive Matrix" forum, and it looks quiet there too. Guess the construction at Heisler Park is going to ruin this event....
