I haven't heard "descpicable" in years, does anyone remember Yosemite Sam?

I think that's the only time I have ever heard it used.

You're right, they both did/do...

Sorry I came in late on this thread but I have to agree with Walter, gary, etal. I would rather not have a holiday badge too. With the size of the membership of SB we represent many different religions as well as those who don't represent any religion. While this is a holiday season for most it's not for all. And as previously noted there are different holidays not celebrated for all.

I wonder how the membership would feel if during Chanukah everyone had a menorah as a badge and then during Kwanza we had the Habari Gani greeting? Though I'm sure some wouldn't mind others might.

At least if we can opt out of the holiday badge it's not the end of the world. Just my $.02.

Is the Grinch on the drawing board? or Jack the Pumpkin King as Santa? or any cast member from Gilligan's Island?
Unfortunately, The Grinch is copyrighted, we already have a Santa.

I fail to see why we should add Gilligan's Island cast members. Care to enlighten me?

The greeting for each day of Kwanzaa is "Habari Gani",[13] Swahili words for "What's the News?"[14]

HA HA HA HA. Guess people don't know what they heck they are talking about...they just want to complain about something!

People get a grip, just accept that December is going to be all about Christmas if you are living in a country where Christianity is the majority religion. Also Santa is pretty innocent...it isn't like they are forcing a picture of the baby Jesus or the Crucifixion.

Now that they have added the other religion's banner's there is really no excuse to complain so just shut it!

from my sunny spot in sydney, i always find it funny that the US people throw themselves into the whole halloween thing with ghouls and vampires and witches and zombies with very little complaints (i dont recall a thread complaining about those badges) but a big guy in a red suit, giving out pressies and wishing peace to all sets off all the PC bells. (or maybe its the breaking into houses, giving lollies for kids to sit on his lap and all that ho'ing that people hate :D )

......I wonder how the membership would feel if during Chanukah everyone had a menorah as a badge ............
to be honest, i wouldnt mind at all, all part of the sharing and learning. in fact yesterday i was getting a quick lesson on kosher food by a SB'er as i have a SB'er visiting next week and i didnt want to do the wrong thing BUT i do obviously appreciate and respect your thoughts/stance/beliefs/whatever the word

cheers and big group hug! :hugs:
