I was getting excited about diving on the 1st, after all the weather Sunday and today was pretty good. Then I heard the weather report, that burst that bubble. Hopefully Gilboa will be far enough south to only get rain and the wind. Unfortunately it looks like wind chills that will be in the teens, not good when you are getting out of the water.

At this point, depending on who you talk to we could be in for 6 to 12 in Detroit. So that means I'll be spending most of the morning digging out. Even if you apply the Bruiser scale (Dick the Bruiser for those of you old enough to remember it), which says take the lower number and divide by half, that's still enough snow to make driving 100 miles to Gilboa unpleasant.

So sounds like do a sanity check in the morning to see what's happening. But probably just roll over and go back to bed.

So far the Waffle House is still a go, if Tracy doesn't have too much snow.

Its pretty bad out. It took me 1hr to make a normally 20 min drive. And that was at the beginning of the storm.

I want Waffle House!!!

I had been planning to go for weeks, and was really looking forward to it. Then I found out today that one of the people in our group who had been planning this, had to cancel due to being sick. So I called a few other people to see if they were still going, and got a no all around. So this is the second dive trip in less than a week that was canceled due to weather. Now I am bummed beyond belief. Especially since it has been a few weeks since I have been diving (Technically one month tomorrow). So unfortunately I will more than likely not be going, unless by some stroke of luck I get a call in the morning and I can get a ride with them, which is more unlikely then getting a accurate weather prediction in Michigan. Which is the second reason why there is a no go. Literally about 25minutes ago all the power went off in my house (right in the middle of a Halo 3 match I was wining) so I went outside to find the awesome surprise of over 8 inches of fresh snow. Well, finally power is back on again, so I figured I would check in here. Well, have a great time to those of you who can make it, and those of you who can not, I do feel bad for you as well. Hope you all have a good time in whatever you do, or where ever you go tomorrow, and HAPPY NEW YEAR. Talk to you soon.

A few of us made it. I had one glorious dive. Vis was about 75 feet.

I wanna try again in 2 weeks. That is a week from this Saturday. That would be January 12. My roommate will be home and if its scary driving, he can take the wheel.

Anyone else up for a dive????

I might be interested as well. Depending upon my schedule and the weather, but I would definitely like to get a dive or two in.
