I stick with SeaGold, but J&J baby shampoo, as well as toothpaste, are quite popular.

I've also met Malaysians using dw soap.

In south Pacific, you will find most dive guides using toothpaste, though possibly only because it's the easiest to find.
In a pinch, I'll do the same, but don't think lasts as long.

I use Dawn. I put a drop on the lens, smear it and leave it. Either I jump in foggy lens and all and let a little water swish in and clear it - works for the whole day.

Spit rarely does it for me - even a really heavy loogie.

1. Spit. Never burns your eyes, always there when you need it
2. Baby shampoo. Cheap, rarely burns your eyes.
3. Any of the grossly overpriced, often burns-your-eyes, commercial defogs.
4. Don't use any other kind of soap or detergent without testing some (very diluted) in your eyes.
5. Toothpaste... only to CLEAN the mask. Wash it out VERY well, it burns your eyes if you don't (don't ask how I know  ).

If you are afraid to place a very diluted mixture of whatever you choosed to defog your mask with in your eyes, why would you use it in the first place? I can almost promise that at some point you will get a little in your eyes during a dive.... and if it burns badly, you will not be a "happy camper".

Best wishes.

Aim Tooth paste. I carry a tub in my pocket. I got the family 99 cent size and it has been on many dives with me. Works great. Is really cheap. Lasts a long long time. Works well. And my mask always smells nice. I use the clear green mint gel.

I use my tongue. Yeppers, I lick my mask clean each and every dive. I feel every perfection and piece of dirt. Also, spit never hurts my eyes.

I have purchased so many bottles of Sea Drops and Sea Gold over the years that to this day I still find them all over the house, if I never buy another bottle I think I have enough to last 20 more years.

Just a little dab will do ya...0p

I just leave a little water in the bottom of my mask.
I just move my head around to run the water across the lens.
Always works 100% and is as cheap as it gets.
There is always plenty of water at any dive site I've been to.
And for some odd reason, there tends to usually be some in my mask.
