I for one am glad that my local precinct is so efficient at changing tires......and that my local fire department was able to change the oil while the tire was getting changes. Ambulatory care was able to flush my cooling system as well :thumb. Car is driving much better now. Thank you Emergency Services.

You try contacting the Medivac chopper for assistance if the part you need is not available locally right when you want it?

If you need a speargun to hunt Lionfish you have no business with a speargun or hunting Lionfish IMO. Shooting a speargun into the reef is very likely. I think it's great that there are well meaning divers but I
wonder how much of this open season on Lionfish the reefs can endure. Hopefully everyone will be super conscientious and careful. Somehow I doubt it.

Isn't the real question how much more Lionfish can the reef endure? Everything I have read is that the Lionfish are decimating the native species, and have no predators on the Florida/Caribbean reef system.

I'm glad the state and FWC are being proactive on this.

From FWC-

■A recreational fishing license is not required for recreational fishers targeting lionfish while using a pole spear, a Hawaiian Sling, a handheld net or any spearing device that is specifically designed and marketed exclusively for lionfish. (In effect through August 2013 - read the new Executive Order about lionfish harvesting)

Not exactly the reef-destroying tools feared by some. :shakehead:

you have no idea what your talking about. Those guys are getting paid the same whether they are "standing around" assisting "grandma" or sitting in their station doing nothing. You THINK they are doing nothing, but you have absolutely no idea what they are actually doing. It could range from providing lighting or traffic control to awaiting the arrival of an environmental agency, or maybe you didn't see the child that got hit prior to your arrival. It's standard for multiple officers to be on any scene where criminal charges may be required. Maybe "grandma" was intoxicated. Maybe there were drugs or guns or whatever present in her car. The cost of fuel is negligible in the overall budget of any public safety entity.

It's people like you who criticize these situations that you know nothing about, that will be glad that the police, fire, or ems departments bring their full weight when its your family in danger.

I would rather them be sitting at the fire house or ON PATROL with their trucks and cars off or in use than in the road while they bull **** around about nothing. They are wasting money because they are wasting time.

I do in fact know what they were doing because i was 40 feet away and 15 feet above them doing a roof survey, i could hear what they were saying and see what they were doing. Had i not been busy doing my job i would have paid more attention.

There was no light but it takes 10 dudes to run traffic or wait for the epa?

I watched it happen so there was no invisible child in need.

Criminal charges for grandmas 8 ball and short barrel rifle??? I don't think so boss. :shakehead:
The cost of fuel is absolutely not "negligible" when they do it every day and were trillions in debt. :furious:

As for knowing nothing about it my father is sheriff Geer, on the force for 20 years. My mother was in blue for 10 years until i came around. I have 2 friends in the fire dept and one who is a emt only, if you want verification i will pm you names no problem. I am not blaming the boots on the ground, its normally not their fault but the people who decide how these things are handled need to be responsible for how much tax money they spend. I criticize because its my damn money keeping that cruiser cool for an hour so he doesn't have to get into a hot car. Its my damn money keeping that 4 wheeler at the Clearwater beach boat race idling right next to us for 45 min while he watches the race and NOTHING ELSE!!

On to the scary part, I'm sure you think 11 guys and 5 vehicles burning gas for popped tires is perfectly fine, that makes our deficit your fault sir.
