Does anyone know where I can buy stainless steel quick release buckles like this in the US?

You might try coping the name and number on the buckle. and doing a GOOGLE search and see what comes up . I tried coping the photo and enlarging it but could not get a clear image to see (my work computer is a little lame ( i don't have a good photo shop)

I don't know if this is quick release, but it looks similar...Stainless Steel buckles for the Golem Gear G2 harness.

The buckles in the link are almost identical to those fitted to a high access safety harness I use. While not being true quick release the do come apart without too much hassle. No good for a weight belt but they'd work well for a shoulder strap.

Thanks, I saw those. They don't allow easy belt length adjustment from both sides and aren't quick leases under tension. At $39.00 they also cost about 6x more than the Imersion Inox Buckle, before shipping. Three buckles are less than a third as expensive as one Golem buckle, even with 2-Day DHL shipping from Spain.

Thanks, but Google is the first thing I tried and how I found them in the first place. Cadmium plated steel buckles are easy but I haven't had any luck with Stainless in the US.

The thing that makes it difficult is there doesn't seem to be a common name for the design. I first saw them in military surplus stores when I was a kid. There was still loads of WWII and Korean war surplus then. US Divers (now Aqualung) sold them in stainless in 1958.

If your doing a vintage thing, cool. If you just looking for functionality ... try one these (upper, available from Trident):

It is a nice buckle. I use the Olsson/Seaquest/Trident buckle for several applications, but need this one for a special safety harness. Plastic is too hard a sell certification and confidence-wise and a lower profile is desirable.

FYI, I understand that this buckle from Imersion works on rubber belts and a freediver in Florida raves about them. Unfortunately the Trident buckle is webbing only.

For rubber belts I like the traditional wire bail buckle. Since you know the right name for it I assume you know Mark Olsson?
