FWIW - I was on the island last week and there was a report of a Tres Pelicanos captain falling asleep during a night dive. His divers were picked up by another boat who discovered the captain sleeping when they brought the divers back. I understand that the captain was terminated.

When I dove with them early in the week a relief captain was handling the Shark since Chan Fran had recently slipped and broke his ribs and is convalescing. That being said on Sunday and Monday (both 11 hour 4 dive days) the relief / alternate captain was alert and attentive. I hope the rumor is not true as he seemed like a pretty good captain.

I looked into that but TP is only affordable if I do 5 days with them. (When Alison was originally booked it was for 3 of our days). Budget is pretty tight this go round.

I think it is more the actions they have taken to reassure me (which of course will need to be backed up by the actions taken when diving) than just saying that. I had a dive shop in Roatan that so turned me off by the response to my initial email- so I don't think EVERY dive shop takes this line.

We'll be back on the Max, I'm sure. Just not this year. I will have to make sure to schedule it for when you're in town so I don't need a taxi

One of the nice things about diving with Jefe is on his off days he calls the boat and says "tell everyone to come eat fish!". We got a really great dinner from that.

Is anyone on the Skinny Shark planning on feeding us?
