Love the churro guy! 2 for 1 margaritas & tapas during happy hour the last time I was there. On a sad note, Huit has gone to Europe. He was very helpful with my booking last year. Getting ready to pull the trigger for this year's trip. Damn airfare keeps creeping up!

I recall they had 2-1 appetizers too? Whatever, I think we will be back for snacks!!

We're approaching spring break season and even tho Coz is not a major SP destination, it pushes available fares up. And the airlines are capitalizing on cheap fuel costs, keeping the savings rather than lowering fares. They may well book their fuel on long term contracts, but those new contracts have to be cheaper now too.

I just glanced at tickets from Lubbock to Coz on Matrix for April. No bargains, and since Google doesn't know that Coz and the rest of Quintana Roo is on eastern time now - some funny looking flight times. They're showing the Houston to Coz flight taking 3h 16m, but the return to Houston only 1h 25m. :silly:

Looking at April, unchecking overnight itineraries, insisting on United only so I can use the remains of a ticket I canceled in Dec, for 6 to 8 nights there, then I can only find one date: April 25, and only for 6 nights. It's an interesting challenge with little joy possible.

I'm looking at $650 from Pittsburgh at the beginning of August. $550 to Cancun. It's worth the extra $100 to me to avoid the "bag drag".

Some do have to plan far in advance, I know. I like to, but it can be costly. Did you check April fares...?

Beginning of April:

$761 to Coz

$594 to Cancun.

It's making me nervous.

Weird. That must be the Easter effect. I checked our Southwest BWI to CUN and it is CRAZY Easter weekend, then goes back down. We are starting to think about tickets for the Rodeo.

You must have some personal requirements other than just month to go. I presume you want to stay for 6-8 nights? And I did reject overnight itineraries, but had no problem finding $567 RT 11 days out of 30. I did not look at details. What site are you checking...?

For August, yeah $599-644, but they're hoping you'll need to book that far in advance. If you're flexible, wait until June or July to book, as the better deals seem to come out closer to flight dates. They don't want to have any seats go free so they'll come down. The main risk is that the dates you want will be sold at lower fares, and - they all might go up, as you never know for sure...

i got as good as 509 on sw outta PIT to CUN? and that is 2 free bags
Free bags is good, one of the few things about SWA I like. $567 RT to Coz beats it to me, tho.
