Great pics.

On 5th street south/calle 5 sur - not to be confused with 5th Ave, or 5th street north. It's a mile from Hotel Coz to their shop. How did you get there, or did they pick you up...?

There is no 5 north. The odd numbered streets are south of the square and the even numbered ones are north. I don't think there is an avenue 5, either; I believe the numbers start at 15 and go 15, 30, 45, etc.

Avenidas start at 5. It's the first one back from Melgar. 5 ave south is the part south of the square, 5 ave n is to the north of the square. I've never understood people making that distinction though when they use cross streets for directions, as the cross streets indicate North or South, but I regularly see people saying things like "15th ave north at calle 10." Although the post you quoted doesn't quote it like that, and you're right that the way they said it doesn't make sense.

Ah, you are right about no 5th street north.

But yeah, the avenues do start with 5. Tres Pelicanos store is at Calle 5 & 5 Avenida. You probably don't look addresses downtown anymore; you know where things are.

I have seen them "get" people to the boat from Hotel Coz. They can't tell you how or they would have to kill you (which is bad for business).:)

correct, odd number STREETS to the South of the square.

however, there IS a 5 AVE. N. ... that is where 'Ohana is at.

5th ave, actually runs "through" the square, basically in front of 7-11. To the south, the "street" it starts where La Terazza is, French Quarter used to be on it, Casino Cuban food & Le Chef are on it.

to the north, it's the walking path out of the square that Wet Wendy's & Kitna are on, and it turns into a street again, just past WW, Isis, BurritosGorditos, La Candela & one of our fav's 'Ohana all sit along there.

The cross streets are all even numbered. to the north

Was my driving that bad?

Yup...3P's is a great op...they DO have it downpat. I find myself comparing every other dive op to Tres and find myself disappointed in each and every instance.... Tres P just seems to have something "special"

Bubs

I am really surprised none of them have been killed or badly mutilated by the taxinistas...
