Yep....Subic Bay... heaven for tech and wrecks (luckily, because the viz is often poop and there's no big critters around).... but top-side is awesome, the people are a joy to live amongst and good beer costs less than 60 cents

The last thing to worry about here is WAI or SPGs... for the record, I'm enjoying this sterling thread discussion with my feet in the sand, a fresh mango shake in hand and a good lady rustling up some lean chicken adobo and brown rice at home

I do not have an air integrated computer but I like them. I also have not read the 32 pages of replies, so forgive me if I restate what has already been stated. The air integrated ones I have seen provide a lot of valuable information such as SAC rate, plus a lot more.

Even in the world of Tec and cave diving I see some students with them and they have their place there also. When used with double tanks in an overhead environment I have students place them on a 6" HP hose, as shown below and dangle the transmitter down between their tanks.

Having this setup has never caused a problem and I always suggest the analog spg be kept on the rig. However with a strictly recreational rig I see no need to keep the spg. If the transmitter fails, abort the dive.

Now you want to distort the statisitics? About %35 of the injuries are to obese people. About %35 of the population is obese. That's just the reality. Here's another startling statistic, look at how many of those accidents are to people over 50. %58 of male divers and %59 of female divers who suffered fatalities were over 50. What? Do you want to kick old people and fat people out of diving now? The fat bigotry is amazing. You can write 10 times what you wrote and that can't disguise that. Most won't read your current rant. Argumentum per deluvium is not the answer.

@DevonDiver Have you ever gotten bent? On top of that, do you smoke?

I might have misread it, but isn't one of the new fancy 'breathers coming with air integration? (for onboard dil and O2)

It wouldn't be hard to do just that. I think CO2 monitoring is a good step forward too.

WAI vs SPG is the new PDC vs Tables :)

And dive computers have not "replaced" tables. Dive computers have become ubiquitous, but for various reasons tables just will not die. Neither will the SPG, I suspect.
