It would appear that you do not understand Nitrox.

Maybe I don't either. For the same depth, you are further from your NDL per unit time. How is being further from your NDL not 'safer'?

MOF cost you a beer when I was in training. This was strictly a Rick thing (along with blacked out buddy breathing BC exchange in a OW course), his logic being it was a great way to lose a mask in rough water and a couple beers would be cheap reminder.

I think it cost me 50 pushups....

That's a Rick thing too in Canada! My southern dive buddy (Rick) holds strictly to teaching those twoin anomalies in OW class too!

My mask goes in my forehead, and it may cause a dangerous incident if someone interferes with me diving as a result. : D

Another favorite of mine was the instructor who advocated diving while on acid to better appreciate the reef colors. The best part (or worst?) that was during the surface interval when I was taking my rescue class from him. And no suspicion he wasn't perfectly serious based on the number of afternoon starts due to his hang overs and the getting high during surface intervals. (It's a while ago and I didn't report him which weighs on my mind occasionally)

Keep them coming!

That is one of the most terrifying things I have ever read. Having experimented in my day with LSD, I cannot even IMAGINE diving on it, I just....OMG

He had a variety of stories of the practice with a couple DM buddies, and I did confirm he didn't mean vinegar or any other non base. He was adamant he wouldn't dive on any "hard drugs" though.

Yes scary!

Lol, You are so funny even if you don't mean it.

FYI, I was one of the first group of instructors in the world to be trained as Nitrox instructors by the "Godfather" of Nitrox probably before you became a diver. Perhaps you heard of "Physiological Advantage" and "Decompression Advantage"?

Having seen any number of panicked divers, I can tell you that the first thing they do is get rid of the mask (by shoving it up on their forehead) and regulator.

Anyone who says that a mask on forehead ISN'T a sign of panic is lying.

There is a name for "all panicked divers shove masks on the forehead, therefore all divers with mask on the forehead are panicked". It is affirming the consequent. This is formal logic, not the part where you an actual boat captain want to see an OK sign from an actual diver, of course.

Really? If you dive Nitrox on Air tables I can see what you are saying. If you dive Nitrox on Nitrox tables (or the computer) then the NDL is just a number....

Well.... what can I say? you can come at me with all kinds of ego but it still appears to me as though you don't understand the fundamentals.
