When I was 5 I'd put on my little mask and snorkel and dive with Mike Nelson whilst watching Sea Hunt. In Iowa. Does that get any points? No?
That depends. What did you use for a pretend dive saber, um, knive?

The closest I've come to a stud is when I measured to find one to drive a nail into... oh, and I missed

IO was diving with some buddies from College in Cozumel on Spring Break. My buddy sometimes has bad anxiety and tends to run through his air more quickly. When he hit 750psi, we decided to end the dive and separated from the group (who continued the dive due to better air consumption) and I headed up with him. At 50 feet, his weight belt almost fell off, and I had to help him put it back on. Once we started ascending again, his SPG suddenly decided to dip from 600psi to 0 everytime he took a breath before bouncing back to the pressure. I give him my octo and we continue to ascend...turns out he forget to purge in his panic and shot the last 20 feet to the surface. This was our second dive of the day and I could see that the waves were quite choppy... So I inflate my DSMB for him to hold on to and ascend at a safe rate...on the surface I reminded him to inflate his BC (he still had air in his tank) and got him to calm down until the boat picked us up. It wasn't a bad incident and he had no DCS, but he was still pretty freaked out...he kept thanking me the whole ride back to shore even though I didn't really do anything

OK...here's my story. I was out diving in the Gulf of Mexico. We ran over a little spot and the bottom finder showed a lot of fish on it. I decided to go see what it was, so I rolled off the boat. As I got to the bottom, it turned out to be a tire pile with a bunch of big triggerfish swimming around the top of it. So I took out my pole spear, shot several of them and put them on a stringer. As I was climbing back on the boat after the dive, I felt this deep, crushing pressure at one spot on my a$$. I came unglued as about a 1/2 second later I realized that one of the triggerfish on the stringer decided to take a bite. I thought my buddies were going to fall out of the boat laughing.

Oh wait, the OP asked about being a stud. I guess I've never been one, but apparently I'm good at providing entertainment!

Other than being hit by a fishing boat, screaming in for a fish weigh in during a no visibility summer storm in Delray, FL, I've had no outlier experiences.

Any guy that can laugh over a triggerfish bite in the rump meets the definition of stud in my book. Those beasties can shred rock with their jaws.

What kind of Triggerfish are we talking about in the Gulf? We have a bunch of Gray Triggers on the East coast, they act fairly aggressive, but only occasionally nibble. It's one of the reasons I wear a full suit, usually with a hood

I was recovering a truck from one of our back waterways that had been found by a couple out fishing. It was night, and being Florida, there were alligators. Nothing big, a couple of 6 or 8 footers who hung around and watched the process. I hooked the truck up, and eventually had to rig a lift bag to get it over a lip. It was a long evening, but it made it worth while when I came out of the water and the woman started gushing about how I had the biggest balls she'd ever seen.
