I found I can do a good job of mucking things up on my own like when I discovered why a stick map of the Old Freetown System in the Bahamas had "Trap Door" written on it.

Let me guess, the door didn't hide a stash of albums from a southern hip-hop sub-genre like you thought?

I certainly hope no other diver here on ScubaBoard has done half the stupid things I have!

I was a solo diver at 13. Probably not the only one but the only one that I know of so far.

I'd say it would be unique if you were not wearing it.
My cat peed on someone's wetsuit once. Kind of funny and sink the stink was of no help. :D :D :D

I don't know if this has happened to others but it was a new experience for us. We were diving off Kona, Hawaii and saw an octopus squeeze himself into a small hole. We were peering inside the hole to try and see him better when he suddenly extended a tentacle, picked up a small stone and put it in my husband's hand! It was like he was telling us "okay, I've given you something so go away, now shoo!"

We decided to go away and leave him in peace.

In the early '80s, I was diving under lose pack ice in Tobermory, in about 100' of very cold water. My buddies Poseidon Cyclon 5000 regulator started to free-flow a little. We decided to service it on the spot, since it was easy to open the 2nd and tweak the valve a little.

Of course this was before octopus regs had been "invented", so we were buddy breathing ...

And my buddy was missing one hand.

We still dive together all the time, almost 40 years later. Probably shoulda died somewhere along the way.

The thing is they probaly weren't "that" stupid at the time, right...? ;-)
