I have a Bauer Mariner with very old (1979) separators and final filter housing, still in good condition with no pitting or cracking but need to replace ( 15 year and older).
Looking at Bauer P 21 but very expensive new. ( double what I paid for compressor!)
Found this on ebay https://ebay.us/JlmIY9
Chinese made inexpensive unit,
Any good?..
Thanx
Emil

I'm curious to see the responses of others, but my current gut feeling says I trust them less that the ones that are old/recalled/etc....

I wouldn't touch it.

Lawrence Factor is my go to source.

I see. Working on a15 years life for the filter. So since 1979 you now need two of the chinese ones.

If not a picture would help as the new P21 assembly has an integral relief valve and PMV
and uses BSP G thread fittings. Good luck fitting either of the suggested filter suppliers LF MDE Nuvair etc without a heap of modification work.

Out of interest what were you quoted for the Bauer P21 filter assembly new.

I believe those to be paintball filter sets and not breathing air. Anyways I'd pass them like truck stop sushi.

Thanx all for reply. Wil post pictures. Compressor cost me about 600 usd and new filter housing 1300 us ? Cannot find a pmv anywhere on compressor so need to incorporate this as well?
Emil

For the P21 its about right at $1300 US you then need to add shipping to SA and any import duty.
But for that you would get the relief valve (fitted on top) and the BPR (bolted to the side at the base.
From memory the P21 filter assembly is around 380mm long

I asked for a photo because as you are on my side of the pond what you may have is the Bauer P61 filter on the mariner at around 850mm long with three times the chemical and life but its much cheaper at £440 sterling ($550) for the filter assembly here in Europe.

The P21 will process around 140 Nm3 of gas 5000 cubic feet (OK for scuba divers and retail markets air gun etc) The P61 will process around 2400 Nm3 of gas 84750 cubic feet (More for industrial compressed air use, fire departments etc )

Unlikely p61, very small unit. Where can I buy p61 in Europe? Interesting comparison. Does the housing also contain pressure relief and constant pressure valves?

Thanx
Emil
