Wow! Devil’s advocate much? IT DOES NOT HOLD AIR!!! Hosing issue aside!!! Let me go ahead and die as long as the other person gets their money though, right? ‍♀️ Furthermore, if a person sells a product insisting it’s brand new and never used then it absolutely should come with what it’s supposed to. Period. I go to look at setting it up and it’s missing a part it comes with. That’s horse ****. Nowhere in the ad does it state it’s missing parts.

Please don’t reply to any more of my posts as you’re not any kind of positive help at all.

If the admin could advise of any block feature I’d appreciate it too. Thanks

Did you make sure that the elevator ride thingy by the pocket was in the closed position?

Don't get me wrong. I want you to return this BCD. It's not the right one for you.

Yeah you have to push down on that to activate and open it.

It is almost completely out of air now after filling it up 24 hours ago. The lever is in place. The integrated weight things have rubber on them on the handles you use to pull them out and they are really sticky to the touch too. Wtf.
She’s agreed to the return so that’s that.

Since you would probably never trust “this” b/c it seems a good idea to return it, if you have time before sending it back it may be a good time to learn how to look for leaks., fill it up all the way and spray it down with a soapy water solution and look for bubbles, put the inflator in some water and look for bubbles, it may not really have a serious problem but you know what to look for next time you encounter a leaky b/c.

Used gear is normally a big money saver once you know how to service/repair it yourself.

Would you trust and go through the hassle and the cost of repairing a leaky BDC that was sold to you after you were told it was brand new and never used? With a missing part? A refund is the only prudent course of action.

I don’t want to wet it or anything like that as I’m sending it back. I can buy new for a few hundred more. There’s even a Mares I saw with integrated weights online for $508. This Pearl was $320 including shipping for stress and brain damage. Now another $20 to ship it back. So that’s actually $340. Probably more as I have to buy tracking. For less than $200 more I could have peace of mind. Brand new with warranty. If someone truly can’t afford $170 they have no business scuba diving IMO.

Yeah no worries. The pearl is the standard

Totally tracking.
I trained in a Beuchat. I don’t know what he wears himself but it felt ok to me. (Shrugs)

That’s why I am considering it. I thought maybe the new pearl but not the i3 as it still has lots of features I liked and is similar. It’s good for those with something up top is why. It wraps under your breasts with that cummerbund. That’s nice and far less of that squished feeling. The back inflate is also a seeming factor for that reason. Lots of pockets as I’m an uber prepared person. Lol.

I think the newer pearl model also has the low pressure inflator hose if not mistaken? I’m still learning so I could be wrong.
Another thing to consider is a backplate and wing set up or a hybrid back inflate set up such as these (link). They have the bladder at the rear so no squished feeling when inflated.

The reason I suggest it is that they have a lot less in the chest area and the waist strap is a lot smaller than the cummerbund. You can add pockets/ weight pockets to a BP&W if you wish or use a weightbelt.

Yes I would have no problem fixing it and using it, all it takes is a little knowledge which you now have the opportunity to gain some! I’m not saying don’t send it back since you never should have bought it in the first place (just my personal opinion) but you do have an opportunity to learn so maybe a little less defensiveness will help your understanding of how things work so if this sort of thing happens in the future (it will) you will have some base experience to find a solution. I don’t know what part is missing since I didn’t catch that mention in the thread but the leak can be as simple as a loose connection or an o ring thusly you could save a few hundred to put toward something else you’re going to need, although getting most of your money back on this particular item is a great idea.

M

Making a point as he made a stupid and unhelpful statement. Thought you’d get that but ok.

none of the people you lashed out at were really being that rude. If you’re going to post on the internet you need some thicker skin because those were very tame responses and not what should be considered rude. feel free to add me to your ignore list
