Well I got Pfizer. I suppose we could argue about that, but I’m trying to convince the family to try the cenotes and whale sharks when we go down this summer. My main concern is a breakthough asymptotic infection that results in a positive test results coming back, a la NY Yankees.

Are we at the point where you can go to a provider and request the specific vaccine you want? Originally, you were stuck with what you get and the advice was take whatever you can get first. As we reach the more reluctant, that may have to change.

Seems you're making the assumption that they aren't.

Unless it is required, no they aren't. Having to put together a database of acceptable providers at every location, and then develop a system to authenticate said results. That is a six month project minimum, to roll out a basic version.

Actually it isn't, it is a unicode Cyrillic letter. And there are dozens of unicode letters that you can replace. I chose that one because it was working at the time, and appeared to still be working in Firefox.

Point is, I knew it wasn't an "ell". Either way, it would not resolve in the DNS of a secure internal system.

These providers are third parties. If this was a purely internal system they wouldn't be using QR codes and accessing the internet, the records would automatically be associated together.

When the gate agent taps on their terminal they are on an internal system not connecting through the public internet. The internal system can connect to the outside internet but they connect directly to the IP address not resolve it through a public DNS. Their software could also scan the QR code but not use their redirect.

Where I am we’re hitting a vaccine wall so that now it’s possible to cost what you want as all the clinics advertise what they are providing and it’s getting close to walk in.

Well IF I was sure with that wiley dang covid that a breakthrough, asymptomatic covid infection had NO long covid or other lasting effect, I could stand sitting on the balcony for 2 weeks ordering food on fastly....

And no I love Pfizer too. Pfizer and Israel produced the first really unbelievable results in a real population for mRNA! You know that is what Cozumel has been giving out? They just did the 50 to 59 age group. first shot and are signing up the 40 -49s. I was afraid they were getting stuck with sputnik or that china-vax.

I just wish I had bought BOTH pfizer and moderna stocks last year instead of just pfizer.....

Our hospital system went to walk in a number of hours, several days a week. They are doing all three vaccines now, so I guess you see if they got the one you want and come back if needed. It was just the mRNAs for the longest time as our state decided to do weird stuff with J&J intially.

I'm going to speculate that many of the longer term chronic and/or new effects of COVID infection will eventually be linked to rare diseases that were suspected of having a link to some unknown infectious disease. For example, Kawasaki's disease Kawasaki Syndrome | CDC is of unknown etiology. COVID causes MIS-C COVID-19 and Your Health which is somewhat similar. Now some researchers are storing to look at both in parallel New findings in COVID-related kids' syndrome, Kawasaki disease. It may well turn out that secondary effects from initially asymptomatic or clinically insignificant infections (maybe from other viruses, including the coronaviruses that cause the common cold), have always been with us, but that this singular event where we can identify a novel agent and test for it in both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients (because now we have a target to look for) might be an important advance in understanding other patients with ill-defined debilitating chronic malaise and fatigue Will Long COVID Change the Game for Autoimmune Diseases, too?
