I strongly recommend Rescue and DAN Oxygen Provider. Makes things safer for both you and any buddy(ies) you might be diving with.
In fact, I strongly recommend OW, then Rescue, and then DAN O2--in that order.

CPR was part of my daughter's OW course (and mine, too). Sometimes it's part of a rescue course.EFR before rescue.
Rescue is a prerequisite for PADI's version of AN/DP (Tec 40/45) and consequently their version of extended range (Tec 50). I'd also think normoxic trimix (Rescue prereq with PADI) would be a good idea if you're planning to penetrate wrecks.I see, deep, AN/DP, extended range, wreck and advanced wreck with penetration, in my progression.
My SDI Solo instructor, is primarily a TDI tech instructor.I would guess you're planning to jump over to TDI.
Thoughts on Rescue; must have cert or not? I have chosen to go a different route. I have no desire to go for MSD, as it seems like any 5 certs can get it for you, althpough, one of them must be Rescue. Not planning on going the DM route, as Rescue is also a pre req. I see, deep, AN/DP, extended range, wreck and advanced wreck with penetration, in my progression. Currently PADI AOW & SDI Solo. I will be 61 this year, taking up scuba just before my 59th b-day. I dive a lot. I just have no desire to take the Rescue course.
I found it to be the best PADI course I took by a long way. It’s the first course that gets you thinking of others rather than yourself. A mix of different skills mostly making you a better, more rounded diver.Thoughts on Rescue; must have cert or not? I have chosen to go a different route.
