I found an artice on several strobes. The DS-125 was the heavest and largest strobe tested. I don't know if it is a concern of yours but this is the only strobe that uses a proprietary battery i.e. does not use AA batteries. Also this strobe uses a controller
to sync with the cameras strobe...
Had a nice dive at Sunset Beach monday, and your right the PNW waters are dark!
I'm looking at the Inon D-2000 strobe. Has a focusing light witch we need up here
and the package looks tidy. Steve

Looking at Olympus websight it looks like the C5060 has been discontinued. Look at the specs on the 8080 and see if the white balance can be manual adjusted? This is very important taking pictures in tropical water with all the blue water.
Not nessesary additional gauges. Generaly just a computer that can be programed for the % of O2 thats in your tank. While diving in Bonaire in December most of the divers that were using Nitrox didn't change thier computer for Nitrox. (Divemasters)
Why do you want to use Nitrox?
Sorry Herman,Buddy Dive had pump problems during our stay and they are still having problems. They even finally admitted it. I still would not go back to that island.
My wife and I just returned from a two week stay in Bonaire. Are expectations were very hi before we arived. Our first dive was at Buddy's Dive Resort and there wasn't much to see except three Tarpen that follow us. The vis was fair and got worst as the week went by. It has been rainning and...
PBH Post Bonaire Humdrum! What a pit. The reefs are beat up from the storms and are strest to the max from divers. I would not go back if someone gave me a free ticket! Buddy's Dive Resort had no water between 6AM and 8PM. Stayed for two weeks and we bathed more in the pool than the...
Alan: I'm planning to purchase the D-180 to go with PT-019 housing. What type of optic cable does one use to fire the strobe? I e-mailed INON and they don't have a listed cable yet for the combination. Ta.....Steve :06:
Hi Alan: I'm Steve aka meca. What part of Australia are you from? I had to purchase the PT-019 housing from Australia because Olympus wasn't importing them into the US yet. Been diving with it for about three dives using the camera's strobe. The pictures come out OK but slightly blurred-because...
Alan: What type of tray and strobe arm do you use? It looks like I have to add a strobe like you did so I can use a faster shutter speed to prevent blured pictures. I also use higher ISO speed ie. 160 or 320 and not auto.
I have been using a C-5000 with PT019 housing. The combo works faily well. The only problem I have encountered is the camera flash sync is 1\30 of sec. Is there a way to change the shutter speed to prevent blurry pictures?
The camera works great for macro even up here in the northwest in dark-murky water. I leave the screen on but
set it to turn off in 30 sec. One item about this camera that
seems to rivial the C5050-C5060 is the shutter-lag...... It doesn't have any. Digital cameras might be more convenent-...
I have a C-5000 and PT-019 housing-which is avalable in the US now. The shutter is fairly fast! Might need a strobe of some kind if you dive in turbid water like we have in the NW. Or just use it for close-up photos. The camera will focus at 1.6 inches. Some on the web complain about slow...
At some kraft stores or supermarkets have cloth reuseable tea bags that should be about the correct size to go underneath or beside the camera in the housing. C-5000 and PT-019 housing.
