You might be a swamp diver if?

    5. The thought of sharks and jellyfish don't phase you, but if you see another freakin' perch go for your ears....

Any experience with Grapevine Scuba or Lone Star Scuba?

Hello all, I'm looking into a NAUI Master Diver course (what can I say... I'm institutionalized with schooling and need more! UNT is making me graduate!), and these two shops are the only two in the DFW area that seem to offer them. I'm checking them out on my own, and plan to head to each...

    Spring Fling Report

/poking my head around my shield of lurking Thanks to everyone for a great time on Saturday. Txhockeyguy's fajitas were great as always, and it was nice to (literally) run into Foo underwater... that's twice now, and almost in the exact same spot. Of course, it was a year and a half apart -...

    Bio-filter regulator air moisturizer

I've used one for the past 3 or so months. It was reccommended to me because I had rather horrible dry-mouth after 30 or so mins on a dive. I must say - it does work for me. You must be dilligent on not over or under filling the sponge and it must be filled before every dive or it won't...

    CSSP Sunday, 10/21

Its a different boat... the one they're going to sink is a bit bigger and all white. The wife and I were out there Saturday as well - gotta love swimming in pea soup. John

    Back from Maine...

... and they weren't kidding - if you're lucky, the ocean WARMS UP to about 50-55 degrees or so. I managed to do some snorkeling, but wasn't brave enough to jump in with all my gear. However, the trip was not a total diving loss, I made the tour of some of the lakes and quarries which DID...

Atmos 2: low battery when turned on, then shows full??

I had the exact same problem, but changing out the battery seemed to solve mine. Since you've already done that, that won't work in your case. Please let us know what Aeris says - I'd be interested.

aries atmos 2 OR tusa sca-343

Can't comment on the Tusa, but I own the Aeris Atmos 2, and have had no problems with the computer itself. Its easy to read underwater, and takes very little time to learn how to make it do all its tricks. Haven't used the nitrox function yet, but it seems really straight forward. Its a good...

    Why do you dive?

After getting to know me last Sunday, you didn't figure that out? :D

    A new swamper

'Twas fun diving with you this past weekend, and getting to meet/know you. John

    Why do you dive?

When I was five or so, I saw Jaws. I may have been the only one on the planet, but that didn't scare me out of the water - it made me want to be IN the water. I wanted to be Matt Hooper in the cage looking at that 25 ft. shark. I promised myself (as much as a five year old can do) that I...

Printing problem with Aeris Computer Interface

Hello, I seem to be having a bit of trouble printing out log pages with the Aeris Computer Interface, specifically the page with the dive line graph. When I fill out all the information (buddy, equipment, etc) it gets stuck spooling to the printer. When I leave out the extra info (buddy...

    Laughing Under Water....

Three groups - one SSI, one PADI, and one NAUI- are out on a rig dive when their boat sinks. They all surface amid the debris, and huddle together within their groups. The SSI leader looks to his group and states: "Well, we're going to swim to shore. It'll be good for us." They take off, and...

    Wet Regulator

Can't make sense of the overhead environment, but the "deep" portion isn't so wierd. Don't know what agency this was with - but during my OW checkout dives we were taken down to 60' for one of the dives. The reasoning behind this was that since we were going to be certified to that depth, it...

    Orange BCD!

Weight pockets are released by a lanyard-esque loop that you pull down and it releases the velcro patch at the top, thus sending your weights to the briny deep. :D I did my OW at ScubaToys and used this BC - its actually really nice and fit me off the rack (some would consider me a bit -...

Clear Spring Scuba Park - May 12th ?

My wife and I would be intersted in joining y'all... if there's room and you don't mind a couple of newbies.

    Just a little pissed off...

Sorry that you took my post as attacking... I was sincere in the fact that I did not know for sure if you had seen Joe's post. And if you didn't care/were still pissed/whatever, that's fine too. I wasn't pointing fingers... or at least I wasn't trying to. And baaack to lurk mode I go again....

Someone might want to point Jedi back here: http://www.scubaboard.com/showthread.php?t=190430 ... or he's seen it and just doesn't care.
