    Bar Harbor in Trouble!

Not really - my buddy's family and I (yes, kids and wives are also coming) will be renting a house in Gouldsboro (sp.?). Wife keeps wondering why exactly did we have to get a beach front house when she actually likes the lakes?? ;) I think she will realize exactly why when she sees all of the...

    Sd800 Question

Wow, thank you for great answers. And yes I would not be taking this out too many times UW - have other things to do there. ;) And yes - "shutter lag" is exactly what I am concerned with - wifie currently uses a Coolpix 5600 (I think) - and it is the biggest PS (not point and shoot). My kid...

    Sd800 Question

Ok, wife is in the market for a digital camera - point and shoot type. Her only preferrence is that it takes pictures QUICKLY (We have two little kids - their reactions and poses have to be photographed quickly - or they r gone). (Exposure speed? - I am not sure what the term is, but for THAT I...

Cool stuff to put in a quarry?

Huge cement pipes (laid out on a bottom) - great as swim throughs, good for buoyancy. Can be short or long enough that they would not create too much of an overhead "hazard".

Dr. Sanjay - stick to medicine, Stay away from Diving!

Actually you are wrong. I was never a good student. I am the one that pushes the limits of sanity all the time when diving. But I do not showcase it nor do I advocate it. The only reason I am alive today is because I was smart when picking out my buddy - he is the complete opposite of me -...

Dr. Sanjay - stick to medicine, Stay away from Diving!

You are right! But that only works for you or I - the unknowns. If you are a public figure you must project a different type of attitude/professionalism. It's like if you tried crack - it's OK you'll get over it, but the fact the Bushie is on it - that's a problem. Same with our athletes -...

Dr. Sanjay - stick to medicine, Stay away from Diving!

They took a helicopter - meaning they had control over loading unloading. "First, from the air where, with the help of a helicopter, we captured some of the very first aerial shots of Carteret." It is extremely easy to dive w/t anything - but is it safe?

Dr. Sanjay - stick to medicine, Stay away from Diving!

Here is an article found on CNN: "CARTERET ISLANDS -- This week I did something that I will probably never get to do again. In fact, the government of Buka, Papua New Guinea, could not think of anyone who had ever done it before. I went scuba diving on the coral reefs beneath the Carteret...

I didn't read the previous posts before posting - but the Board community seems to agree. :)

Mares Fins with ABS buckle....ouch! am I doing something wrong?

...but they do open easily in the water - resulting in a loss of a fin. Therefore, to eliminate both problems - install spring straps (15 mins of making them and installing plus $20 in cost) - and you will be one happy Mares Quattro owner. :) (Search the Board for a thread for this DIY...

    Happy-Medium Destination

Rivera maya - ruins for top side and Cancun for entertainment; Cozumel, caves and caverns for diving. Bonaire is always perfect... On the other hand nothing beats Jersey diving in mid-Nov. ;)
