    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I love how the 250gsm undersuit is totally different to the 150gsm. Men's swimwear for the 250gsm vs "Men's Or Boys' Suit-type Jackets And Blazers, Knitted Or Crochetted: Of Synthetic Fibers, Less Than 23 Percent By Weight Of Wool Or Fine Animal Hair' for the 150gsm.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

It would not be possible to pee out the front zipper with your arms still in the suit; you'd need to get out the suit to halfway. In general, prevailing wisdom is against a convenience zip. It's just one more thing to fail and an expensive one at that. But in your situation, if you have an issue...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

My undersuit is cut similarly by the sounds of it. I've never been sure if it's a defect or just the way the product is; maybe excess so the crotch can ride up if you have your arms out in front or reaching for a valve? I'm happy enough with my undersuit but I think it's a weaker product than...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

They were closed 22nd Dec to 2nd Jan so they might still be a backlog of orders placed during the holiday.

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

Yup, quite a few of us. First, check it's weaved it the right way through the buckle to start with. I'm not 100% sure but I think Seaskin weaved mine wrong and and it kept popping out and I just put it back how they had it, so the cycle continued. To really make it foolproof, put a couple of...

    Seaskin Nova - flexibility?

I dive doubles with a Nova. I can do valve drills fine, wearing the Seaskin 250gsm undersuit and a couple of thin/medium baselayers. The suit is 'standard fit', ie, without the additional allowance for 400gsm+ undersuits. This is only my second suit and it's much thinner and more flexible than...

Just got my new Seaskin Nova -- The Good and the Ehhhhh...

I have the same issue with the suspenders (braces in British English. Suspenders are more associated with lingerie). One poster here (maybe @rob.mwpropane) suggested making sure the buckle is threaded properly as one way locks a lot better than others. The other suggestion was to thread a...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I'm going to check mine against your photos next time I'm checking my suit. Mine slip all the time. It's a fairly minor frustration, but still. Mine slip both when I'm wearing it and when it's bagged for transport. They've slipped out fully a few times in the bag, so it's totally possible I just...

Question buoyancy issues during 'open water' training

I don't think it's related to your second stage - but if you think there is something odd about it you should ask your instructor. Either you'll get it changed out or you'll something so it's a win:win. Going lopsided is probably weight distribution as above. If it's the lead weight...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I think the combination of materials in the suit and undersuit are quite grippy/sticky for each other. I'm also not totally sold on their undersuit. I have the 250gsm without the extra allowance. One thing Seaskin recommend is spreading talc on all the exposed glue to try and reduce its...

Info Warning about using phone charging stations

I also prefer using my own charger, but I've had one of these for a while (not from here, that was just the first google hit I found) https://www.cybercenteronline.com/product/usb-syncstop-security-adapter/. The theory is that it blocks the data ports from the charging station and just allows...

Good Dry Glove options other than Waterproof Ultima?

I've heard of one bad outcome from what seemed like a minor suit leak (I can't remember the location of the leak). All I know is being cold for any reason is a totally different ballgame for people doing huge runtime 80m+ dives compared to my little no-deco 30-35m bimbles where I could go from...

Good Dry Glove options other than Waterproof Ultima?

It depends on the dive, right? People running a significant deco obligation from deep North sea wrecks and U-boats could have some serious trouble with both hypothermia and the resulting poor perfusion leading to slow off-gassing and substantially increased risk of DCS. So maybe not imminent...

    Medical form for dive op?

Oh yes, there was definitely at least one past version of the form in 2020 that had it. But they have been proactive at keeping the form up-to-date as it became clearer what the risk from COVID actually is. Presumably also down to pragmatism, because as you said, the bottom would fall out the...

    Medical form for dive op?

I don't think the most updated forms do say that. At least for PADI and UK Diving Medical Committee. https://www.ukdmc.org/downloads/ https://www.padi.com/downloads

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

I did Fundies in the Nova + 250 gsm undies with a longsleeve polyester base layer. Suit is without the extra allowance for an even thicker undersuit.

    Indoor Scuba Training

For PADI, the answer is no indoor facility could be used for all 4 checkout dives. This is in the instructor manual and they also reinforced it in the Q2 2022 Training Bulletin (this is a newsletter all paid up PADI DMs and up receive to communicate changes, additions or FAQs from the...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

The picture you are painting of the UK and O'Three is different from my experience. I think Seaskin are on the ascendancy, or maybe it is observer bias and I just notice them more since I bought one. Certainly there are more or equal number of Seaskin suits and O'Three suits in my club. By far...

    Review Seaskin Nova drysuit

The SiTech combi tool for the quick neck has a plastic pry-bar at one end. I found this better than a metal object for not damaging the rings. I don't have the rolock system though, this was just for changing a damaged seal with QCS rings.

Drysuit Donning Advice - Getting my feet into neoprene socks

I must say I've not found the neoprene grippy/sticky, but glued areas can be. You could try dusting them with talc/french chalk?
