Minimum depth change required for an AGE?

We all know not to hold one's breath when ascending while diving, it's one of the most important rules in Scuba Diving taught right at the beginning of an Open Water course. We also know that due to Boyle's Law, the risk of Arterial Gas Embolism from air entering torn (pulmonary) capillaries...

Do I need a cavern cert to do a guided Mexican cenote dive?

I am planning to go to Mexico sometime next year (so plenty of time), and am very interested in looking at the cenotes in the Yucatan. What kind of training/cert would I need to do a guided dive inside some of the cenotes there? I currently have only OW certs. Thanks.

This is rather late notice, but I am arriving in Manila tomorrow (Sunday April 24th) at around 1pm. This is too late to make the any of the daily flights to Legaszpi, but I would still like to try and get to Donsol tomorrow. (Whale shark watching). Are there any private vans or buses I could...

Is this PADI instructor still licensed to teach?

My girlfriend has found an instructor that she wants to take her PADI OW Advanced with. I ran his instructor number through PADI Pro Chek (PADI Pro Chek) and got the following result, see attached picture. I have only ever seen green check marks before, but what does this red stop sign...

Diving in Japan is #$%% frustrating...

Unfortunately a slight rant follows. But I feel it is very justified. (For the record I have lived in Japan for 6 years, speak good Japanese (日本語能力試験1級) and have experience dealing with the Japanese so I am not a fresh, clueless gaijin)...

Is it possible to dive a Suunto D6 with a low battery warning?

Going diving next weekend for 2 dives and just realised that my Suunto D6 has a low battery warning. It seems to let me go into dive mode, but I am wondering if it is actually possible to use it on a dive even with low battery... Any ideas? Note that it does NOT say "Replace Battery"...

Suunto Dive Computers and Decompression Diving? Advice wanted

So I am getting to the stage in my diving where I want to expand the range of my horizon. There are some wrecks that I want to visit deeper than or very close to the standard PADI Recreational limits so I am thinking of enrolling on a basic tech course that teaches advanced nitrox and diving on...

    Suunto Dive Computer Question

According to the PADI RDP, when diving in cold water you should plan your dives as if they were 4m deeper than actual, to account for differences in nitrogen uptake. I dive with a Suunto D6 wrist computer. Does anyone know if these products make the adjustment automatically or do you have to...
