Anyone else notice that the new Pebble Smartwatch is rated down to 165 ft.? Any way we can get some dive tables and/or depth monitoring on it? At only $150, this could be a nice affordable little back up computer.
A diver drowned on Friday diving the Channel Islands. It was only his 14th dive and he was diving solo from a regular dive boat. Without getting into the discussion of the dangers/merits of solo diving, I have two questions for the forum:
1. Should the diving boat be held legally liable...
Hi ... I am going to Rarotonga next week. Has anyone been there and does anyone have any suggestions? As an instructor, I definitely do not want to be with some "control freak" operation.
I am thinking of going with Dive Rarotonga as they seem to have the best rep.
Thanks :)
... I just moved to the island of Alameda in the East Bay from Newport Beach. I was curious as to whether anyone dives in the Bay itself, or just out in the ocean. If there is diving in the Bay itself, are there any wrecks or good spots that I should know about? Also, is it generally pretty...
This whale skull washed up on the beach in front of my house today. I live next to the Channel Islands Harbor in California. It is approximately 5 feet long and weighs 100+ pounds. The whale was approximately 15 - 20 feet long (a baby I believe), had striations under its jaw, and a very small...

I found this piece of cloth burried under the wreck of the Sea Wolf off of the coast of New York. Looks like some sort of linen or hand woven material. Any ideas???
All threads relating to the sale of my rebreather on Ebay have been removed. However, apprently all of the other threads pointing to ebay listings are ok. What do you guys think? Ridiculous that they removed them or did my post annoy you guys? If it was annoting, sorry :-) The last thread...
I just returned to Paris today from Faru in the Maldives. It was the first time that I used my new "smaller" set up consisting of a Canon S400 with matching Canon UW housing. I have alot to say about the camera and the location, but here are a few low res examples until I get back across the...
... off of the south coast of Sri Lanka. Has anyone been there? If so, what is the water temp this time of year? In addition, has anyone had any experience with the Club Med dive operation there?
Thanks :-)
I found this piece of cloth in the wreck currently known as the Sea Wolf (true name not yet discovered) off of the coast of Long Island. Does anyone have any ideas regarding what it could be? It appears to be made out of linen.
With all of the talk about certifying agencies, I would like to know which of the following instructors you would most like to take a technical class from and why.
I already have a Nikon D100 w/ a Sea and Sea housing that is rated quite deep. However, I don't always like to drag that big of a unit with me on a dive. Therefore, I am looking for consumer UW housings that are rated to ~ 250 feet for a point and shoot digital ... especially for the Canon...
