    Oceanic Datamask Inoperative

I've been an active diver since 1972 (age 15 - you do the math) - at that time all I dove with was a Steel 72 tank with a "J" valve, mask, regulator and depth gauge. No BC of any kind, no dive computer, and no SPG. As time goes by and the industry matures new equipment becomes available - the...

Reset Temp reading on ProPlus 2?

I would have to agree - I have a Datamask and an Atom 2 - the Datamask always reads a solid 5 degrees lower than the Atom and I carry a small capilary type thermometer and it shows somewhere in between the two computers. Seems that you always know on a dive what the temp is going to be when you...

    Oceanic Datamask Inoperative

Hummm - - interesting to hear your issue with it dying on you - - I had absolutely no problems with that kind of thing - - I have "Wet Activation" set to ON - but as we were diving Nitrox on every dive except deep dive in Blue Hole - I would push the 'A' button on the surface to put mask in...

    Oceanic Datamask Inoperative

Oh - one quick addition to the report above. I am using a ScubaPro first stage and I had a choice of mounting the transmitter on so it was sticking out to the right or left, so what I did initially was mount the transmitter so that it was sticking out to my right when the tank is on my back. I...

    Oceanic Datamask Inoperative

Got back from a 22-dive trip in Belize with my new DataMask - - best investment I ever made! I love having all the info right there in front of me - - nice big Numerals, very easy to see even in bright sunlight conditions. I think I would really miss not having the info there if I dive with...

Switching VT3 back into AIR mode after using nitrox mode

Yep that's the way it works - just use 21% After 24 hours since last dive it will re-set and then show Air, but as you have discovered if you set any numerical value such as 32% and a dive is made you will not see the word Air until the 24 hour period has expired. This should be in your...

    Atom 2 firmware

You'll love the Atom 2 - good computer - mine has 3D, but I wouldn't get overly concererned about updates - when you take it in for annual warranty check your dive shop should be able to do the latest update at that time. The "Sea" that you see is just saying it is sensing Sea Level pressure...

    Transmitter Location

I've tried both sides - didn't make much difference either way - I have left the transmitter on the left so it is not so close to the tank valve handle and I have my Atom on my right hand due to being left handed (it gets beaten up less on my right hand) and it works just fine that way.

Atom 1 Link to Transmitter Problem

We had a similar problem on the board last week with a guy that had a new Atom 2 - - he acctually re-entered the transmitter code despite the fact that it was already set properly and that made it work - you might give that a try just to see if it might be a similar problem.

Wireless AI users tell us the truth!

I have been "Wireless" since the first Uwatec Air X came out - looking in computer logs that would be about 1995, so 12 years now on Uwatec Air X and traded up to Air Z in 2001. The only problem I ever had was driving an underwater scooter interferred with the signal while it was running, but...

Depth calibration on Oceanic dive computers

I did some checking on water densities - - looks like salt water is about 3.5% more dense than fresh (on average) so at 100 feet the difference should only be about 3.5 feet. I suspect the larger difference you are showing is due to some small instrument error. Still it's not sufficient...

Depth calibration on Oceanic dive computers

You're six feet tall - so in my book everything is OK :D Just remember to give your lower legs and feet a couple more minutes at the safety stop ;+)

Depth calibration on Oceanic dive computers

I have two Oceanic computers and both of them use salt water depth calculations, but the units will automatically switch over to fresh water depth calibration when the altitude sensor indicates that the unit is at 2,000 ft or higher. I assume since my Datamask and Atom 2 both do the same...
