Thanks for all your help everyone. Ended up going with the Aeris Manta (aka oceanic geo).

Does everything i need it to and presents it in a straightforward way that i like. User able to set alarms and safety stops. Algorhythm is liberal with option to make it more conservative. Also has gauge and free dive modes, so could use it as a backup if i ever need anything more technical. Chose the Manta over the Geo as the numbers are a little easier to read.
