I was just there (Cancun / Cozumel) in that timeframe and did not hear anything.
Oh, your probably wouldn't unless it was a guest at your hotel who died while you were there, and even then it'd be iffy. Such news would be bad for business, so most would never tell a tourist.

My yardstick is that if DandyDon did not start this thread, then it is probably untrue! :D
I just post what shows up on the news, and I still suspect that they avoid spreading such.

Here you go..It seems to have happened in Dominica.

Uh, same ocean - wrong week, wrong generation, wrong sport...
My father is on a two week back to back cruise that came to port to Cozumel on Tuesday, Dec. 10. While waiting in line to board the ship, a woman who had been on a dive tour mentioned that a 45 year old woman had died while on a scuba excursion. When he called me today while in port in Miami he mentioned this story. I told him that there is usually some some of report that is made and that I had not seen any such news. It all could very well be rumor.

Hey Don...we love ya - you're one of the reasons that I like SB. Keep it up!

You state that as if it were fact, but is it really anything beyond conjecture on your part?

I guess our definitions of probably, iffy, most are different.
