Bob DBF, Agree-"dive in conditions you were trained in"--add or better conditions and to a RECOMMENDED depth of 60'. Very vague. Suppose it's rougher surf or rainy, a little more current, etc? And when does an OW diver venture below 60' as countless have over the decades? When you are "experienced enough"--perhaps by going deeper on a charter with an experienced buddy or DM? Or must you wait 'til you do AOW to go to the RECOMMENDED depth of 100'?

Zen1300, Amazing coincidence--In 2006 I did my AOW Deep Dive in the Gulf of Mex. to exactly 63'. Hey, I opened the combination lock quicker at depth than on the boat, due to the boat rocking....My "Nitrox Adventure Dive" was deeper at 65' that day. Ah, the function of a log book.
