Another LDS is Sea Ventures in Fairfax, VA. They are the only shop in the DC/Metro area that is an authorized ScubaPro dealer (that I know of... there may be some in MD that I do not know about) Their link is below.

You can go to Richmond or Maryland for Scubapro :zap1:

While we're at it, has anyone here had dealings with any of these?

http://www.sarges.net/

We did a two tank dive with Sarges last fall. The shop is owned by two brothers and they are nice guys. The shop is actually on a dock in Sommersville Lake, so it is only open during the dive season. It is small but well stocked.

They have two boats and usually do two trips a day people and weather permitting. There are some nice dives in Sommervilles lake and this is a good introduction.

I would not recommend it for inexperienced divers, ie: first dives after Cert. As it was pretty much theres the water, get in and have fun. They did keep a good watch on the bubbles, my buddy and I got turned around and were heading for the middle of lake, realized we were sort of lost and came to surface to get bearings and the boat was following us.

They are at Mount Storm almost every weekend during the season. The owners are real nice people and will sit and talk diving with you all day.

From what I observed they do a very good job with their check out dives.

They have a great setup and appear to be very organized.

They have an equipment trailor with a heated change room and carry cascade bottles in their truck.

I am planning to do a Nitrox class with them this year.

Here is a link to some information about Mount Storm:

This is a nice site, but some of the information is dated. There are no longer any dive shops in the area. Hence no where to get air fills, so bring plenty.

The bearings to the platforms and UW features have changed some.
Currently there are four training platforms, two around 24 ft, one around 50 ft and one at 90 feet. To my knowledge no one has ever found the quarry equipment.

I am in the process of checking the phone numbers and bearings and other information and will post corrections when done.

As of last weekend the water temp was 53 degrees.
