sorry, thought you just meant the east coast of the island. ( similar to bonaire’s south side. )I don’t know what the ‘wild side’ is...
Cozumel Island's east side is called the Wild Side. It generally gets more wind and waves, not developed, no electric or water lines, no sewer lines, no cell service. It's also where the sea turtles usually lay their eggs.I don’t know what the ‘wild side’ is...
Last year the sargassum did hit the west side some as the currents took some thru the channel and eddies left some on the east side altho it hit the other side of the channel worse. The east side of the island did get more, causing severe problems for newly hatched baby turtles trying to get to the water before any bird or varmint could attack.Ok, so no, I haven’t been to that side and I suspect it is more prone to sargassum due to ‘current science’ and stuff....
