So let me set the stage...
When I get into something (diving in this instance) I really get into it in regards to reading, thinking about, practicing, etc. I had never really read that deeply into the subject of BP/W. Enough to know that it was intriguing to me and that I would probably venture down that road eventually. Enough that I thought I understood all the all the general knowledge points. I mean how hard can it be? Actually it's closer to being a minimalist type of a mindset.
Wrong!
I come across a new Diverite Transplate harness a couple of weeks ago for a good price. "Great" I think, "time for me to go down this new and exciting way to dive for me". I just need to grab a wing and a backplate and away I will go.
WRONG AGAIN!
Steel back plate? Aluminum back plate? Crotch strap? Single tank? How easily can it be converted to sidemount? Super fabric? Baliistic nylon?(is there diving in South Central L.A.)
I thought I had read through this forum pretty extensively and the only thing I think I have learned is that there are a metric ****ton of choices and none of them are really all that wrong. Am I better just calling Diverite directly and seeing if they can walk me though the myriad of choices in specking gear? I know as sure as Christ made little apples if I do it myself then I will be wrong? Any thoughts on the matter are mucho appreciated.
