DataMax Pro issue

I have an older (about 8 year old) DataMax Pro. It has worked fine until I gave it a pre-vacation checkout today. It goes through the normal startup girations then it flashes on and off four times and turns off.

It it a goner?

Put a fresh battery in. If problem persists Contact Oceanic via their website. Mine went hincky and theu repaired to like new for 150, cheaper than a new one.

I love my DataMax Pro but can not buy the J Battery that it takes. I bought ten of them about 3 years ago but I am down to my last one and I understand that the J Batteries are no longer made. I also heard there was a battery upgrade kit. Can anybody enlighten me

I'll buy it off you for parts. Does it have the two small "button" batteries in the black plastic holder, or a J battery ?
