Diving this week. What to expect with conditions and temps. What to look for as far as sea life as well. Any help is appreciated.

Reports from the San Diego Divebums list today:

Dove the Shores this morning - around and just north of the old Crap Patch
area. We were there to photograph octopuses, and there was so much
activity that we never ventured below 75 feet. Reasonable vis, maybe 10-20
in most places depending upon presence of bat rays, classes, etc. 76 at
the surface, 61 at depth. Tons of red and two-spot octos, two unidentified
sculpins, lots of sarcastic and one-spot fringeheads, and a few blennies
(mussel, I'm guessing). One Corambe with lots of eggs, some
Eubranchus-looking eggs (no corresponding nudi), and some fat Navanax.

Beach was busy at 6:45am this morning. It still must be summer time. We
went around V Pt counterclockwise

stopping first at the crap patch and then south to the point. Many schools
of juvenile rockfish still (mostly halfbanded's),

many blackeye and bluebanded gobies, one juvenile horn shark that swam by
and didn't stop and say hello, a few

sarcastic fringeheads, ronquil fish, few rock crabs in the holes, and a few
Calif longbeak shrimps. Nice dive around the point.

Check out Vet's at night. You should be able to find at least a dozen.
