I currently use a Torus 35 wing for my local Seattle diving and LOVE the setup (have DDS plate and weight plates also).

I just came back from Cozumel, and I'm thinking the 35 is way to big. Any one using the 26 or 17 for warm water? The 17 looks good on paper, but I'm thinking it would be to small. I'm 6ft and 180lbs.

Any thoughts?

If you ask Tobin, the owner of DSS, he will tell you that the size of the wing depends on the thickness of your wetsuit rather than your body size and weight.

I dive a SS plate with an LCD20 and have sufficient lift for me, but if I had it to do it over I would probably get a couple more pounds of lift just to have in case I ever had to aid another diver and provide them with lift.

The only way I would dive anything less than 20 lbs of lift would be if I were using a Kydex plate or equivalent, but that's just me.

Diving aluminum tanks, I use an 18lb wing with a 5mm wetsuit and aluminum plate. I wear 4kgs of lead. The lift is plenty for me with this set up. I think you'd be fine with a 17lb wing assuming aluminum tanks and light exposure. But agree with hongrace, if you ask Tobin he'll give a definitive answer.

warm water only, T17, DSS stainless plate, 3mm, no additional weight.

5'9, 180lbs. Works good for me.
