blibecap, how much does it cost to tumble two tanks?

I really don't know, I think the LDS charges $25 each. I am a cave diver and have several tanks so I built my own tumbler and purchased the material locally for about $70 quite a few years ago.

blibecap:
I had the same problem with one of mine and the solution was to remove the coating. had it tumbeled with course abarasive and it cleand up and has now passed two hydros.

Exactly what type of coarse abrasive media? The two people with tumblers that I have asked said that their media can't touch this liner, but I don't want to give up on this tank (because I am pig-headed).

ok... sort of a related question:

if i buy the components of a doubles set-up independently (tank in one place,
manifold in another, bands somewhere else), is putting them together basically
just unscrewing and screwing things?

or are there special measurements you have to make, or adjustments to the
precise pressure or something like that?

No worries H2Andy.

There is a howto on Dive Rite's site. That is where I learned. You basically screw stuff together and use common sense.

Andy,

There is one caveat - the bands and manifolds are typically sized to each other..., so you want to ensure they will align properly, for the most part I believe Thermo/SeaElite/Halcyon all use similar spacing when using Highland-Millwork bands. I don't know about DiveRite.

thanks, guys

netmage: yup...good point. i actually figured that out from reading the descriptions
of the things on line searching for them

alright... well... the deed is done

i got a pair of Worthingtons (steel) LP 85's from Scubatoys, along with a
Dive Rite manifold and tank bands.

received them yesterday, put them together per the instructions with no problems...

moving them was a bit hard on my back, but when i actually put them on, it
felt ok. i took them off quickly. don't want to strain anything. just couldn't wait

here's a link to the tank specs:
