Then there's no point getting a Teric if you aren't going to wear it as a watch. Cheaper to get a Perdix and only use it for diving.

No point? The Teric has a very cool compass that the Perdix doesn’t. It also has a really nice OLED screen, versus the LCD in the Perdix. 4 buttons makes navigating the menus easier. And, for some of us, the smaller form factor alone is worth the extra money.

Other than that, yeah. May as well save some money and buy a brick, uhh, I mean Perdix.

What is the difference between the compass in the Teric versus the compass in the Perdix?

I use the compass in the Perdix all the time and it hasn't failed me yet. I also use the compass in my Mk1.

That also means you are putting more battery cycles on your dive computer's rechargeable battery, and using it throughout the day lowering the battery available for diving.

I run 50+ miles a week. I've only had a handful of times where I had to toss my extra charger in the truck before heading to dive.

The Teric compass can be displayed the same as the Perdix. But, you can also have it where N and your Mark both float around the rim of the display, so you can always see them, and without losing any of the other data fields on the screen.

I use the Garmin MK1 for everything from hiking to open water ocean swimming and diving and it can do so much more than virtually any watch out there with a very accurate GPS system and customizable faces.

Same, from hiking to mountain biking to navigating the high country while hunting. I've even setup a vehicle navigation application that works in a pinch when I don't have cell service. The beauty of the garmin is that it is so versatile, I can use it in all parts of my life, including throwing on the titanium band, changing the watch face, and wearing it to chuch. It'd be a shame to only use something a fraction of the time. I've had my MK1 going on 3 years now, I do some sort of activity that I use it for everyday, not to mention get texts and other notifications on, and still get around 2 weeks of battery. When it comes to diving (which only accounts for a small percentage of my activities in the big scheme of things), I make sure I'm charged up before, and if it's a multi day trip, bring my charging cord, no big deal. I think the benefit of wearing it everyday, besides the fact it keeps track of your N2 saturation (from changing altitudes etc.), is the muscle/brain memory of navigation of the screens, know what buttons do what. I'll be getting the MK2i no question. In my opinion, the only thing that will be missing is the applied ballistics bullet flight calculator. Maybe in the MK3  one can only hope.
