I guess it depends on your goals though. I want endurance over strength over mass. My friend (a bodybuilder) wants mass and definition over endurance and strength. So, our routines vary somewhat in intensity.


That is probably the biggest mistake people make. Not defining their goals first. I always see the young guys jump on the bench press first with way more weight than will be beneficial. They usually have no idea what they are doing. I usually get questions after they watch me go through my routine (which doesn't involve benching at all. Bad shoulder.) They are usually dumbstruck when I can explain what each exercise is intended to accomplish.
