How much does the GUE Fundamentals course cost in Australia, and can you rent gear like the canister light or do you need to have your own, or does it depend on the shop you do it through?

Thanks

Yes, I'd second the recommendation to get in touch with Nick Schoeffler. He's right in your area, and I know him and have dived with him and he's an extremely nice guy.

You don't have to have a canister light to take Fundamentals in a single tank, either. You only need a can light if you are going for a technical pass. And if you get a recreational pass (single tank), you can do a checkout dive and upgrade to a tech pass (doubles, can light) at any time in the future -- there is no time limit on that.

MA.25 there's Steve Trewavas in Melbourne. Heard he is a very good instructor (few buddies done Fundies with him). Met him recently too, as he was our guide on a cavern dive, friendly guy!
