Hello,
I’m considering buying a BTR 500 from Hollis. Wanted to get some reviews on it / is there a better choice?. Budget is around $1400. This would be my first dry suit. I saw I can get the BTR for around $1100 then get the Kubi glove system installed too.

Thanks!

I am currently diving one. I really like the fit, flexibility, light weight, and quick drying of it. The only real downside I have been able to find in it is that the outer fabric is starting to fray in several spots. It definitely will never hold up like my Santi Enduro but it is costs about 1/3 as much. I am a cave and wreck diver so my suits might get more abuse than yours will.

Full custom from Seaskin will cost less, takes about 6 weeks to arrive.

The seams in mine have developed a leak for the second time now. First time I thought it was the zipper but it was just seams. this time it is fizzing in the middle of the membrane on the outside so I have to assume the nearby seam is leaking or the material is wasted. I will be sending if off for repairs again and looking for another option myself. I really expect more durability from my gear than this.

Nope the leak is coming right through the middle of the fabric. Obviously not long for this suit now. I would have expected at least 3 years, but no such luck.
