Hi everyone: There are 2 inon macro lenses to choose from, the UCL-165 or the UCL-330. The 165 has greater magnification than the 330. Other than that, can somebody please explain the pros and cons (ease of use, depth of field) of either of these two lenses? Thank you, Wayne.

I've wondered this as well. Did you make a decision as to which one you will purchase?

If you have an Oly camera the UCL-330 is pretty useless.

The UCL-165 won't give you any greater magnification than you can get with the camera's super-macro mode, but gives you several advantages:

1. Without the 165, you need to be 1" from the subject for maximum magnification, but with the lens adapter, macro mode, and 2/3 zoom, you can do so from 2-3" away.

2. Since you are in macro mode, the camera's flash works (it will only fire in slave mode when using super-macro.)

3. Being able to focus from further away, you can easily get strobe light to the subject.

4. You can stack the 165's!!!!!!!!!!!

UCL-330 was developed for cameras before "super macro" modes were available.
If your camera has such a mode then the UCL-165M67 is better choice, for reasons listed before.

What is best for the C5050Z Oly?

BrantD:
The UCL165 67m is the best for the C5050, PT-15, for the same reasons listed above!

Has anybody stacked the UCL165
