I always carry a pony bottle below 60 feet, because I just feel much more relaxed and comfortable knowing that if a hose explodes, I can still make it to the surface without any rush or urgency at all.

I ALWAYS carry a pony. Always!!!

I think I read or heard that way back when, the navy use to do a cesa exercise with submarine recruits. I can't recall the depth they did it at but remember saying "screw that!"

So, not recommending a deep cesa unless you are :holysheep:

The escape tank at the New London Sub base is 90ft. Enter through an air lock at the bottom and blow and go! My only real (not practice) CESA was from 70fsw after exhaling.
