The Nautilus Lifeline. What can you tell me about it? Do you have one? Is it reliable? Has it ever saved your life? Should I buy it? When should I have it on me? Is it necessary and worth the money?

Also, what products offer similar features or are better and serve the same purpose??

I have one (recently replaced a lost one actually). The one time I tried to use it to call the boat, the captain had turned down his radio to talk to some distressed divers. I wasn't in enough trouble to try the emergency mode. It gives me some peace of mind when diving in the ocean. The peace of mind is worth the money by its-self to me.

It's a little on the bulky side. I don't like a lot of stuff on me when I dive, and I haven't found a spot that I really like for it on my BC yet.
