I have been reading the site for a while but never felt ready to post or comment.

I would like to thank all the great folks who I have been spying on and learning from for the past few years. I hope to contribute more than just bubbles in 2016 ;-)

Got my first cert in 2009 and took a few classes each year. I'm done with PADI, loved the PSAi advanced nitrox class but it's too hard to find PSAi Instructors so now I am looking for some good TSI instructors to continue my education.

Most of my 147 dives have been in Turks and the Philippines. This summer I figured out how easy it is to get from NYC to Key Largo for great wrecks in warm weather. I'm shooting to do 55 dives in 2016 and get more deco and wreck penetration experience. I am fascinated by wrecks.. love the history

Recently I have been reading a lot about deco theory and other geeky stuff that none of my friends would care about. So here I am ;-)

8 down 45 to go...

Happy new years!

Welcome!

Hopefully you'll become an active participant! We can always use another voice in the conversation.

Welcome! Not sure if you are already a member, but if not, you should check out our dive club: http://www.seagypsies.org

We meet once a month for dinner/drinks/lectures, we have other evening social events, and we sponsor lots of local dive events during the season as well as trips to warm water locations. It's a great way to meet new dive buddies and make new friends! Also, we have a lot of technical divers and instructors in our group, so there are a lot of people who can help you move on in diving...

howdy and welcome from south Florida.....55 dives a year is a very good number.

Welcome to SB! 55 a year is a good goal...attainable.

Hello & Welcome!
Like you, I'm very interested in ship wrecks and getting training for penetration and tech. Anyway, you're certainly amongst a good crowd who enjoy diving and sharing about it! :D

55 is something of an interesting number.

I mean, it's no 53, or 57. But wouldn't 50 be more, I dunno, denominatored? (I know that's not a word, but it bloody well should be.)

Hey Dr. Mike, I did join the Sea Gypsies in August and have been to a few meetings but have not been able to go on any dives yet. I wanted to do the trip to mexico but it was in conflict with another trip I was on at the same time :-(

I look forward to meeting more NYC divers always open to drinks and dive stories ;-)

I did 46 dives in 2015 and want to beat that. 55 is the stretch goal. This will be a challenge for me because last year included 2 big dive trips with 14 & 22 dives in them. No such big trips planned for 2016... yet...

The plan is to tack on some diving to any biz trip close to a dive location (a lot of biz travel) and use the FF Miles to add a few extra trips ;-)

I will be in Miami next month for work and plan to get 6-8 dives in with Horizon while getting my Advanced Wreck Diver Training on that trip.

Mid year check in on my new year's resolution. It's now End of May and I have done 26 dives, I am on track for 55 this year but I will need some help from some North East Divers.

This weekend I will take my Dry Suit class to enable more local NE dives.

Looking for buddies to Do some NE dives with... Sundays are best for me but I can do other days with enough advanced notice.
