- Usually not that much more expensive than new
- Almost a Slam Dunk that it will perform to your expectations
- Precisely what you want (not just close)
Other than saving a few pennies, why would you want to take a chance and settle for something only close to what you wanted?
My pleasure. If you just turned on your signature, it won't appear on any of your previous posts. However, once used, they will all change when you edit them.
A FEW pennies? You clearly make ten times more than I do. Guess the $7,500 I got for my domain name wasn't nearly enough
I have
saved probably close to $15,000+ buying used scuba equipment.
After 3 sets of regs, 4 wings (Last one I couldn't even tell it was used), 1 backplate, 2 can lights, both at half price (Looking for another 21watter), 5 drysuits, 2 sets of drysuit undies (1 NOS, 1pair used once (Too warm for him)), 1 compressor and bank system, reg rebuilding equipment for pennies on the dollar (as in I paid $65 for one piece that would be $895 new), lots of Jet fins, a few sets of used dry gloves, some H argon straps are coming to my house today, 1 kayak, 1 boat (Neither counted in the savings), 2 expensive computers, 1 mask (Plus one used one from LP, although it was new with tags), 4 HP130's, 1 AL80, 2 AL 6, 9 HP100's, 1 HP80, a few tank valves and manifolds, and way too many little items to list.
Of course I have spent thousands on new gear too.
Craigslist, Ebay, The Deco Stop,
Scubaboard have all helped me acquire new and used gear.
Most of the folks I dive with happily buy used gear too. Maybe it is a cold water thing vs warm water
