Yes, I just started getting this last night. I guess it has something to do with the DRIS ad on the top of SB.

Guy's we had this AD made by someone on SB staff for us. They are looking into it as quickly as possible.

Just know we would NEVER try to get popups on your screen, or have any type of annoyance for your experience!

You can fix this in 5 minutes by telling SB to stop running your ad. It is unfortunate that they can’t do adequate testing/quality control but I suspect it isn’t done by a big enough team to manage that. However, once an issue is identified it is up to everyone involved to sort it out. If this happens all the way to Friday then it is your reputation that suffers. You are already on a thread with proper scammers, that is poor company to be keeping.

At midnight, last night when I found it, I don't have unlimited resources to have done that quickly or have a banner removed in 5 minutes at that time of the night.

The issue seems to have been fixed 4 hours ago. Can anyone test, and let me know? If the issue still persists, we will be replacing the banner. Why do you think we would let it run until Friday? We just found out about the issue, and have worked hard to get it resolved.

Thanks again Budshammer for emailing me to let me know about this issue. I wish someone would have clued me in sooner, but we instantly worked to resolve the issue once we heard about it.

Sorry, I didn’t think of contacting the company itself. In hindsight, NOBODY has a greater urgency to get it fixed than the company whose reputation is getting hijacked.
How does this process work? Who actually writes the software for the banner ads? If you need a genius JavaScript software guy, my nephew is the Batman of cyber security Software.

I’ve been seeing the ad without the issue, haven’t reset safari since I posted that I did a few days ago.

We have lots of people that do different things, and even different banners for us. All trusted by not just us, but others in this industry as well as others.

This wasn't a virus or anything. It seems to have been a cache issue. Our site saves pages, and preps them for you to view. That serves them to you faster, almost all sites utilize this for speed. For some reason, that caching was having a conflict with the timer software and the iframe that is needed to show it on SB. Some complicated crap and steps that all worked together to cause this perfect storm for some people. So, it was more of a conflict causing an HTML 5 page to popup if you had clicked our banner and been to our site and seen X information...and now we were on Y information and things got wonky.

I'm always looking to keep new people close. It's a crazy world, and things are always going wonky and getting fixed as computers, software, hardware, security all change on a daily basis. Things that worked fine for months, somehow have an issue if you do steps, q, r, s in the right sequence on a certain browser. So, feel free to have batman email me so we can chat and utilize him when needed or find a need for his talents. mike@diverightinscuba.com
