The government ordered the resorts on the island to close down but divers are still allowed to dive around the island. Acommodations are available on nearby islands like Mabul or Kapalai just 15-minute boat ride away. They want to preserve Sipadan.

now that's a good move... with the resorts just 15 away what's the point of stressing another island out?
